14.08.2019 The Bielefeld Institute for Bioinformatics Infrastructure (BIBI) is founded!

As an essential step in the process to obtain a sustainable solution for the German Network for Bioinformatics Infrastructure (de.NBI), the Faculty of Technology of Bielefeld University founded the Bielefeld Institute for Bioinformatics Infrastructure (BIBI). 03.07.2019 SILVAngs now running on the de.NBI Cloud

As partners in the German Network for Bioinformatics Infrastructure (de.NBI) project, we are proud to announce that the SILVAngs service is now running on the de.NBI scientific cloud infrastructure. A 400 CPU cluster has been set up and is providing valuable compute power for your analysis projects.

31.01.2019 SILVA Release 138 further delayed

Dear SILVA community, we are very sorry, but the release of SILVA 138 will be delayed until approximately June/July 2019. The main reason is that we had to change several of our "third-party" data providers since the providers we used were not longer up-to-date. This caused the need for refactoring parts of the software pipeline, which took longer then expected. We are working with high pressure on the new release.[more]

UNITE (https://unite.ut.ee/) is a web-based database and sequence management environment for the molecular identification of fungi. It targets the formal fungal barcode—the nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region—and offers all 1 000 000 public fungal ITS sequences for reference.
